[Cialug] OT: Printing to a network printer

Back in the bad old MSDOS days I could have an application open and
write to lpt1 or lpt2, and lo! - the data appeared on a printed page.

Then I was enlightened and installed Linux. I adjusted the application
to open a pipe to lpr, write my PostScript data, close the pipe, and
enjoy the beautifully-formatted result.

I just finished installing a new printer, complete with all of the
features I've craved for decades: PostScript, color, duplex, and a
high-speed ethernet connection...

...but can't figure out how to send print data to it from my application
running in a DOS window under XP. I can send the data to the screen or
to a file, but haven't a clue how to get it to the printer.

Can anyone help?
