[Cialug] OT: HP Pavillion DV1000 optical drive

Thanks for the offer...

I tried a server optical drive that had the same socket as the HP... 
when I put it in and started up, the screen flickered a lot, and it 
still didn't boot from CD, the bios was set to boot from CD first.

I think this machine has other issues, going to run a memtest on it.
