[Cialug] This doesn't look right

As you know I am new to Linux in the last week. I was smart enough (I
hope) to install Firestarter as my firewall and a few days ago I had a
"hit" that the firewall blocked. I didn't screen shot it and will (any
"hits") in the future. Well, just tonight, I got and update install
notification and went ahead and started to update. Please see the below
links of the screen shots of the dialog boxes I got.

Is it possible that this is a bogus update by someone trying to get into
my system. And if so, how do I handle it. If I remember correctly, I did
this update a few days ago and the dialog boxes didn't resemble these.
And how do I get rid of the update notification icon at the top of my
screen.

Thanks!!

Jeff
