[Cialug] OT - Best/better cable modem?

Nate,

My folks were having a similar issue almost daily at their house. After a
couple months of troubleshooting with me and with the Mediacom guys, one of
the Mediacom techs ran new coax from the pole to the house. (Everything else
had been rewired and checked multiple times by this point.) Ends up, water
was somehow getting into that section of coax. After it was replaced, no
more issues. That bit of coax had been up for at least 20 years.

I wonder how far back up stream Mediacom replaced coax. Before the pole to
house section, they'd replaced from the outside connection into the cable
modem at least twice and the folks were still having trouble.

Good luck,
Brad.
