As promised, here are the results from the poll.

1) 65% of people prefer a downtown location.
2) 70% of people prefer that the downtown location be at Alliance
3) 45% of people prefer that the West-side location be DMACC. 40%
prefer that it be Spindustry. I think that this is close enough as to
be a tie.
4) 90% of people prefer that the North-side location be DMACC-Ankeny.
5) 100% of people want us to have a standard location, i.e. to not
rotate every month.
6) 75% of people want the alternate meetings to be once per quarter.
* Note: I screwed up the poll here, because I intended to ask if people
wanted the alternate location to also be on an alternate day. That was
not clear, sorry. More on this later.
7) 70% of people are happy with the meeting being on a third Friday.
8) Due to 7, this question has no real significance.
9) Most people asked "African or European?" Two people answered with
11 m/s or 24.6062992 mph, and one person chose 1.21 gigawatts
10) The preferred method seems to be google, though "I feel and hit my
head" and "narcotics" are other useful methodologies.
11) 70% of people agree that the poll goes to 11, one was quite
enthusiastic. 20% of people disagree.

So, what does all this mean?

I think that it means that we will continue to meet every third
Wednesday at Alliance. I propose that we keep it very simple, and that
we have occasional meetings outside of the downtown area but NOT on the
3rd Wednesday. This will keep people aware that these are non-standard
meetings, and we'd be less likely to have people show up in the wrong
place.

We need two volunteers to talk to both DMACC-Ankeny and DMACC-West to
find out what's involved in having these locations for our non-standard
meetings. I propose that we fit their schedule, and see who shows up.
I did get some non-poll emails asking that we have other meetings on the
weekends and/or outside of Des Moines, so that more people can attend.

We can discuss this at greater length on both the list and at the
meeting this week.
