[Cialug] Ubuntu on ThinkPad 600E

Thanks for all your feedback. This is just a regular wired NIC. But I 
did try another USB wired NIC, but that one wouldn't even register with 
Ubuntu. So, I went back to the other USB NIC. I was finally able to 
connect to the web. But I didn't really change anything. So, I am not 
sure what I did other than restarting the computer and removing the NIC 
and reinserting it. I will just keep an eye on it. Now, I'm looking 
forward to playing more with Ubuntu. This is my second attempt at 
having a Linux computer at home for personal use. We use SUSE in the 
office for a file server, but not as a computer for regular everyday 
use. So this should be interesting. This Thinkpad had Windows 98 on it, 
so it was time to update the computer to something more modern.
