[Cialug] OT: Employment outlook in Des Moines?

Well, it depends on what it is you are looking for.  Granted, if you only
look in the Des Moines Register then yes, it looks like only
Wells/Principal/Qwest etc are hiring.

Compared to last year as of this same time my opinion is that the requests
for work is greater than the current work force pool.  i.e. you shouldn't
have a problem finding a job in the niche that you wish.  Though it may take
a little digging and good old fashing networking to find the opening if your
niche is highly specialized.

Besides Dice, may I suggest looking on craigslist as well?  It seems a lot
of the smaller companies have been posting help wanted things there because
it is cheaper.
