[Cialug] Kubuntu: What am I getting?

I want to download and install Kubuntu.  There's a CD and a DVD
available.  The DVD iso is definitely larger than CDs can hold, so I'm
guessing there's more on there.  What more does it hold?  Is it worth
the bother?  Does it hold more packages on it or is there more
outright installed by default?  Also, it doesn't seem like there's a
CD torrent on kubuntu.org, though there is a DVD torrent.
