Liz,

Based on your CNEs, I am guessing that you are referring to Lumenation

( http://www.novell.com/partnerguide/product/102154.html ). I saw
this
demoed several years ago, and I'd say it's OK, but it is NOT a
sharepoint
replacement. Also, I have been far from impressed with Lumen as a
company, and I've seen Novell slowly distancing themselves from Lumen.

>From a Novell perspective, I would suggest that you take a look at
Alfresco.
( http://www.alfresco.com/ and
http://www.novell.com/partnerguide/product/203192.html )
Alfresco is designed to a sharepoint replacement, and seems to be doing
a fairly
good job.

Failing that, it would depend on your specific needs. If you need
source code control,
I agree with Dan that subversion as a base makes sense. You could also
consider
Trac (wiki + subversion)

If you want a knowledge base, MediaWiki is a good open source product.

If you need a document repository, Alfresco is good.

Hope this helps,

Does anyone have any experience with Lumination software or any open
source product that will allow team collaboration? I really don't
want
to go down the SharePoint road and would like to offer my supervisor
and
users an alternative.
