   1) Make sure X and ssh are installed.
   2) Make sure you can ssh into the remote machine.
   3) on the windows side, execute "startx"
   4) an Xterm window should pop up. From within that window ssh to the
remote host. Use the -X or -Y option to ssh and possibly -C (the fine
manual will tell you which to use).

   5) run an x application (xclock, xcalc, or even xterm is a good test).
   6) application will appear on local desktop pretty much like any
other windows application. Move, resize, tile, whatever you need to do.

If you are really wanting "remote desktop," you're likely to be
disappointed, but if displaying X applications on the windows desktop in
a fairly seamless way is more your cup of tea... It works fine.
