[Cialug] help me tame my router?

I've had the same problems with 2 Actiontec dsl routers - I originally had
one of the black ones with built-in wifi, and now have one of the white
ones.

I've forced my /etc/resolv.conf to point to a linux box inside my network
that's doing a caching nameserver

I don't get why Linux boxes can't talk to the Actiontec router's as a
nameserver, but Windows boxes do... and the Actiontecs are running linux
too.
