Disregard - I think I found the problem.  Deb was auto writing the image to
hdg instead of sda.

I just installed Debian 3.1 to an 18 GB SCSI drive and upon reboot the
message displayed was "Failed to boot OS" or something similar to that.  I
am reinstalling the base system and going to pay more attention to the boot
loader install menu this time.
