Technology Association of Iowa – Leann Jacobsen, President

There are three things that companies said the association needs to work on:

1. Need to focus on workforce - Students are told to stay away from IT because everything is going offshore. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
2. Connectivity in the industry - Connecting the IT industry to government, industry to people, etc.
3. Working on the business environment.

About 200 members from 350 due to the dot-com bust.

One of 25 states growing in the industry.

Misc

Add to the CIALUG website that we are available/open to speak about Linux.

Joomla has a wordpress plugin, maybe do something with this to add to the website.

There’s a new show being organized by the association. We would like to get a presence there.
