File systemsJosh suggests using the default file system for whatever distribution you are using. For example, use ext3 for Redhat/Fedora, but ReiserFS for Suse. If he installs Qmail, he uses ReiserFS for that partition. Other file systems:
AlternativesInstalling multiple versions of an application, and choosing which one to run. For example, you have 4 JVMs, but you want the default JVM to be v4.02. You can use “alternatives” to choose the default, and any app that uses the JVM will use the one you have set. *Alternatives* is available in Fedora. Interesting topics
